Wylex NHXS1 RCBOs give you combined overcurrent and 30mA earth fault protection in a single 1 module width. It is the modern answer for individual circuit protection without eating board space.

This page lists the 1P+N B curve range, 6kA, Type A, from 6A to 40A, designed to drop into Wylex NM and high integrity consumer units. One RCBO per circuit means a fault trips only the affected way, not half the house, which is why more sparks now spec them as standard.

Wylex RCBO buying questions

What is the difference between an RCBO and an MCB?

An MCB only protects against overload and short circuit. An RCBO does that and adds 30mA earth fault protection for its own circuit, so one fault does not take out the rest of the board.

Are Wylex NHXS1 RCBOs Type A?

Yes. They detect pulsating DC fault currents from electronics and LED drivers as well as AC. BS 7671 now limits Type AC to fixed equipment with no DC component.

Which Wylex RCBO ratings do you stock?

B curve, 30mA, 6kA: 6, 10, 20, 32 and 40A (NHXS1B06 to NHXS1B40).

Do Wylex RCBOs take up more space than an MCB?

No. The NHXS1 is 1 module wide, the same as an MCB, so you can fit an RCBO on every circuit without a bigger board.

Which consumer units do Wylex NHXS1 RCBOs fit?

Wylex NM and high integrity consumer units. Keep the board and RCBOs the same brand, because boards are tested with the maker's own devices.
