Mini trunking fittings buying questions

What is the difference between an internal, external and flat bend?

An internal bend takes the trunking into an inside corner, where two walls meet. An external bend takes it round an outside corner, like the edge of a chimney breast. A flat bend turns the run 90 degrees on the same flat surface, for example from along the skirting to up the wall.

Which size mini trunking fittings do I need?

Match the fitting to the trunking. Fittings ending in 2 suit 25 x 16mm, ending in 3 suit 38 x 16mm, and ending in 4 suit 38 x 25mm. For example, the TIB2 is the internal bend for 25 x 16mm trunking.

What is a mini trunking adaptor for?

A trunking adaptor gives a neat finish where the trunking meets a surface box or accessory, so there is no ragged cut end on show. The TA2 suits 25 x 16mm trunking and the TA3 suits 38 x 16mm.

How do I run mini trunking to a ceiling rose?

Use the TCR2 ceiling rose adaptor. It lets 25 x 16mm trunking run neatly into a ceiling rose without cutting into the rose.

Do I need fittings or can I mitre the trunking?

You can cut and mitre it, but moulded fittings hide the cut ends, cover the lid joints and are quicker to fit. On a job a customer will look at every day, fittings give the cleaner finish.
