PVC conduit buying questions

What is the difference between round and oval PVC conduit?

Round conduit is for surface runs, with boxes, couplers and saddles. Oval conduit is flatter, so it sits in a shallow chase under plaster, protecting cables down to switches and sockets and letting you rewire later without chasing the wall again.

What does heavy gauge PVC conduit mean?

Heavy gauge conduit has a thicker wall, so it stands up to knocks better. It suits surface runs in garages, workshops and commercial areas. Bend it with a matching heavy gauge bending spring.

Should I choose white or black PVC conduit?

The spec is the same, so it comes down to the finish. White suits most homes and offices. Black is often used in commercial and industrial buildings or against dark surfaces.

What sizes of oval conduit do you stock?

20mm oval, which measures 23 x 11mm, and 25mm oval, which measures 29 x 11mm. Both come in white, in 3m lengths.

What fittings do I need with PVC conduit?
