Malleable iron with a hot dip galvanised finish, made to BS EN 61386-21, the standard for rigid conduit systems. Malleable iron takes a knock without cracking, and the galvanising protects it from rust.
Galvanised fittings resist corrosion, so they suit damp or dirty places like plant rooms, farm buildings, car parks and covered outdoor areas, as well as anywhere the conduit could take an impact.
No. They are rated IP30, which keeps out solid objects over 2.5mm but gives no protection against water. For wet locations, use fittings with a suitable IP rating and seal the joints.
A terminal box has one entry, for the end of a run. A through box has two opposite entries for a straight run, an angle box turns the run 90 degrees, and a tee box takes three entries.
20mm: through box, angle box, tee box, coupler and female adaptor. 25mm: terminal box, through box, angle box, tee box, coupler and female adaptor.
