Hager miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) for Hager consumer units and distribution boards, made to BS EN 60898.

The MTN range is the everyday single pole 6kA B curve breaker for domestic boards, from 6A to 50A. For commercial boards, the NBN (B curve) and NCN (C curve) ranges are rated 10kA, and the NCN also comes in 3 pole for three phase circuits from 16A to 63A.

What is the difference between Hager MTN and NBN MCBs?

The MTN is a 6kA breaker for domestic consumer units. The NBN and NCN are rated 10kA under BS EN 60898 (15kA under BS EN 60947-2) for commercial boards where the fault current can be higher. All are single module, 17.5mm wide.

Should I use a B curve or C curve MCB?

B curve suits most domestic and general circuits, like lighting, sockets, showers and cookers. C curve trips at a higher surge current, so it suits loads with a big start up current, like motors, transformers and large banks of LED lighting.

Which Hager MCB ratings do you stock?

MTN B curve: 6, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50A. NBN B curve: 6, 10, 16, 20, 32 and 40A. NCN C curve single pole: 6, 10, 16, 20 and 32A. NCN C curve 3 pole: 16, 20, 32 and 63A.

Do you stock three phase Hager MCBs?

Yes. The NCN 3 pole C curve breakers come in 16, 20, 32 and 63A. Each takes 3 modules (52.5mm) in a three phase distribution board.

Can I fit a Hager MCB in another brand of consumer unit?

Fit Hager MCBs in Hager boards. Consumer units are tested to BS EN 61439-3 as a complete assembly with the maker's own devices, so mixing brands is not recommended.
