Cable glands for armoured and flexible cable, to secure the cable and seal the entry into enclosures, consumer units, isolators and junction boxes.
For SWA armoured cable, we stock Deligo brass gland packs made to BS 6121-1, EN 50262 and IEC 62444: BW glands for indoor use from 20mm to 75mm, and CW glands rated IP66 for outdoor and damp areas from 20mm to 32mm, with a small version in 20mm. For flexible cable, we stock Marshall Tufflex IP68 nylon compression glands with locknuts, in 20mm and 25mm and in black, grey, red and white.
Live stock on the common sizes. Not sure which gland fits your cable? Call the branch on 01656 765 300 with the cable size.
A BW gland grips the armour of SWA cable but has no outer seal, so it is for indoor, dry locations (IP2X). A CW gland adds an outer seal onto the cable sheath and is rated IP66, so use it outdoors, underground entries and in damp areas.
Match the gland to the cable's overall diameter and armour, not just the thread size. Some sizes come in a standard and a small (S) version for smaller cables on the same thread. If in doubt, call us with the cable type and size.
Nylon compression glands seal flexible and unarmoured cables into an enclosure and are rated IP68. The 20mm takes cable from 7 to 10mm across, and the 25mm takes 9 to 16mm. They come with a locknut, in packs of 10.
BS 6121-1, EN 50262 and IEC 62444, the standards for cable glands for electrical installations.
Deligo brass gland packs in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm contain 2 glands. The 40mm, 50mm, 63mm and 75mm packs contain 1. Nylon compression glands are sold in 10s.
