An adaptable box is a plain enclosure you drill or knock out on site to suit your cable entries. Electricians use them for junctions, terminations and housing connections on surface and outdoor runs.
The first number is protection against dust and the second against water. IP56 is dust protected and resists powerful water jets. IP65 is dust tight and resists water jets. IP66 is dust tight and resists powerful jets, and IP67 also survives brief immersion in water.
All the boxes here are suitable for outdoor use. For exposed spots, wash down areas or anywhere water could pool, choose a Wiska IP66/67 box, and use matching rated glands so the entries keep the rating.
