Crimp terminals and crimp connectors for terminating and joining cable in control panels, vehicles, boards and earth bonding.
We stock insulated ring terminals in the three standard colours: red for 0.5 to 1.5mm2 cable, blue for 1.5 to 2.5mm2 and yellow for 4 to 6mm2, with 4.3, 6.5 and 8.5mm stud holes. For joining two cables, there are butt splice crimp connectors in red, blue and yellow. All are tinned copper with halogen free PVC insulation, rated to 75 degrees C, in packs of 100. For bigger cables, we stock tinned copper tube crimp lugs for 10mm2 and 16mm2 cable, made to BS EN 61238-1.

The colour tells you the cable size. Red crimps take 0.5 to 1.5mm2 cable, blue take 1.5 to 2.5mm2 and yellow take 4 to 6mm2. Match the colour to your cable so the crimp grips properly.
Pick the colour for your cable size, then the hole size for the stud or screw it goes on. Our ring terminals come with 4.3mm, 6.5mm and 8.5mm holes, so a 6mm stud needs the 6.5mm hole and an 8mm stud needs the 8.5mm hole.
A butt splice is a crimp connector that joins two cable ends in a straight line. Push one cable into each end and crimp both sides. We stock red, blue and yellow butt splices for 0.5 to 6mm2 cable.
Crimp terminals are the smaller insulated types, like ring terminals and butt splices, for cables up to 6mm2. Crimp lugs are heavier uninsulated copper tube terminals for larger cables. We stock tinned copper tube lugs for 10mm2 and 16mm2 cable with 6, 8 and 10mm holes.
Yes. Use a ratchet crimping tool made for insulated terminals, so every crimp is pressed to the same pressure. Tube lugs need a heavier lug crimper sized for the cable. A poor crimp can work loose or overheat, so give each one a firm pull test.
